Some experiments creating a stool from sheet material. Quite nice to be able to sketch it out in the morning, draw it out at noon in CAD, mill it in the afternoon and finish/glue it in the evening. Efficient prototyping.
One of the conclusions of the first prototype was that the stability could be improved. Even though the 3-legged stool has a quite elegant look to it, it might be necessary to change the number of legs to 4.
I’ve also played around with the seating surface of the stool. Usually they tend to be a flat or cushioned surface and I was interested in creating a 3D texture that not only is comfortable but also creates some interaction between the user and the object.
