Project: These 3m and 6m diameter gears were commissioned by Artisan Tech as part of the Teknisk Museum‘s new foyer. As they would be hanging at 3 meter height on the ceiling above the reception, it was important to keep the weight low but still keep the strength of the structure high. I did the 3D-modelling, CNC file preparation and cnc-milling before handing over all pieces of this puzzle to Artisan Tech do let them do their magic. I provided assembly guides to make it clear how things go together. The final finish Artisan Tech put on made it really stand out as a solid metal gear, as intended from the start of the project. It’s great to see when digital fabrication meets skilled handwork to create a stunning piece like this.
